Great Lakes Grows Older..

Posted by Manik Kinra on April 19, 2007

One more year has passed by, and Great Lakes has grown to be one more year older! Yes, 20th April 2007 – On Behalf of the entire Crusaders batch, we welcome the Batch of 2008, Junior Crusaders.

The Last one year saw remarkable improvements in Great Lakes Institute of Management. I will try to highlight some of them below – 27% increase in average salary, taking the average salary figure to 9.3 L p.a and bringing Great Lakes to the league of top tier schools in India.

Development of Yale – Great Lakes Center of Management Research under the purview of Dr Venkat Krishnan. This research center aims to highlight the importance of Management Research in Management Education in India which is a field widely neglected in almost all B Schools in India.

Development of Kotler – Srinivasan Center of Marketing Research. The first International Conference would be held in Dec 2007 and is done in partnership with North American Society of Marketing Education, India.

Students @ Great Lakes won prizes in all most all B Schools in India like IIMs, IITs, MDI etc.

A Peer Reviewed Management Journal, Great Lakes Herald. The first issue of the journal would be launched in April 2007 and would act as testimony of the importance Great Lakes is laying on research.

Formation of Alumni Association, which was inaugrated in July 2006.

A Center of Corporate Initiatives focussing on Consulting Assignments for Corporates.

Wider Acceptance by MBA Coaching Institutes like Career Launcher etc, rating Great Lakes next to SP Jain, NITIE and other tier 1 B Schools.

Yes, Class of 2005,2006 and 2007 has worked towards making this dream of taking Great Lakes to the top a reality. We are still not there but are moving in right direction and moving at a fast pace. I urge Class of 2008 to continue the tradition and work towards taking Great Lakes to the next level.

……Together we will take OUR institution to being the best in the world….
